Nothing but Fluff and Smoke (dt. Nichts als Fluff und Rauch) ist eine Kurzgeschichte von Malik Toms und Jordan Weisman, die in mehreren Teilen veröffentlicht wird und im Seattle Metroplex spielt. Sie stellt ein Dankeschön für die Unterstützer der Kickstarter-Kampagne für das Computerspiel Shadowrun Returns von Harebrained Schemes dar.

Hintergrund

Die Kurzgeschichte bezieht sich auf einen Running Gag, der während der Kickstarter-Kampagne entstand. In einem der Update-Videos (Link) sagte Jordan Weisman, dass eine große Zahl von Usern sich wünscht, dass in Shadowrun Returns ein Drache vorkommt, der ein Kätzchen verschlingt. Daraufhin wird aus dem Off "Nein" hereingerufen, Weisman zuckt gespielt zusammen und schlägt anstatt dessen vor Ki-Adepten in das Spiel zu integrieren.

Die Geschichte dreht sich um die Runnerin Kat, die das Kätzchen Fluff bei sich aufnimmt und in dem Drachen Ahteen einen Gegner hat. Eine begleitende Illustration zeigt einen Drachen, der mit einem Wollknäuel in der Klaue mit einer Katze spielt.
