Rigger
Als Rigger bezeichnet man Personen, die sich mit Hilfe spezieller Cyberware - der sogenannten Riggerkontrolle - in ihre Fahr- oder Flugzeuge einriggen, diese also allein mit Gedankenkraft steuern. Daher sind Rigger normalen Fahrern und Piloten meist weit überlegen. Ihre Steuerbefehle müssen nicht mehr motorisch durch ihren Körper umgesetzt werden, weshalb Rigger viel schneller reagieren und so atemberaubende Manöver vollführen können.
Die Verbindung erfolgt über eine Riggerverbindung. Direktes Verbindungsglied ist meist ein Kabel, aber auch eine eine Funkfernsteuerung ist technisch möglich. Sie wird sehr gern von Drohnenriggern verwendet, um ihre eigentlich selbstständig manövrierfähigen Drohnen bei Bedarf fernzusteuern.
Die Verbindung mit Fahrzeugen ist theoretisch mit allen Arten von Fahrzeugen zu Land, Wasser und Luft möglich. Das Fahrzeug muss lediglich über einen entsprechenden Anschluss für die Riggersteuerung verfügen.
Nur wenige Rigger sind hauptberuflich in den Schatten unterwegs. Viele arbeiten ganz seriös für Konzerne und größere Unternehmen.
